Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The Cathedral of St. Joseph is not only a beautiful building—it is the Mother Church of our Diocese, a sacred place where the faithful have gathered for a century to celebrate the sacraments, lift their voices in prayer, and encounter the living God. It stands as a visible sign of our unity in Christ and our shared Catholic faith across every parish and community in West Virginia.

As we celebrate the Cathedral’s 100th anniversary, we are called to ensure that this holy place—built by the sacrifices of those who came before us—will remain strong and beautiful for those who come after us.

I invite you to join me in supporting this campaign for preservation and restoration. Whether or not you have ever stepped through its doors, the Cathedral belongs to all of us. It is our spiritual home, the heart of our Diocese, and a powerful symbol of our life together in Christ.

May we go rejoicing to the house of the Lord—grateful for what has been and hopeful for what is yet to come.

In Christ,

+Mark E. Brennan
