Devotions & Special Liturgies
Eucharistic Adoration is a sacred time to encounter the Real Presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. It offers a moment of peace and reflection, drawing us closer to Jesus through silent prayer and intercession. At our Cathedral, we hold Eucharistic Adoration on the First Friday of each month in the afternoon and on other special days throughout the year.
The Divine Mercy Chaplet is a powerful prayer given by Jesus to St. Faustina Kowalska, offering immense graces and mercy for the world. Prayed on ordinary rosary beads, it focuses on the Passion of Christ and His infinite mercy, making it especially meaningful for interceding for sinners, the dying, and the needs of the world. The Holy Rosary is a cherished prayer of the Church that invites the faithful to meditate on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ through the eyes of His Blessed Mother. Each decade reflects on a mystery, leading us closer to Christ while seeking Our Lady’s intercession and guidance. Praying the Rosary fosters peace, strengthens families, and deepens faith, making it a powerful devotion for personal reflection and communal prayer. It is a timeless way to grow in love for Christ and entrust ourselves to the care of His Mother. Click here for information on how to pray the Rosary.
First Fridays are traditionally dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, honoring His immense love and making reparation for the sins of the world. At our Cathedral, we celebrate First Fridays with Eucharistic Adoration throughout the afternoon and a Holy Hour of Reparation at 4pm, offering prayers of love, reparation, and gratitude to the Heart of Christ. This devotion is a powerful reminder of Jesus’ invitation to draw near to Him, find rest in His mercy, and deepen our relationship with Him through prayer and sacrifice.

St. Monica, the patroness of mothers and those praying for the conversion of loved ones, is a powerful example of perseverance in prayer and faith. Each year, on her feast day, our Cathedral offers a special Mass for the Conversion of Lost Souls, inviting all to join in prayer for those who have strayed from the faith. Through St. Monica’s intercession, we place our trust in God’s boundless mercy, asking Him to touch hearts, inspire conversion, and bring our loved ones closer to Him. Devotion to the Infant Jesus of Prague has its roots in the 16th century, when a statue of the Child Jesus was brought to Prague by a Spanish princess, who later became a Carmelite nun. The statue, originally quite simple, became known for its miraculous healing powers after being placed in a Carmelite church in Prague. Over time, many miracles were attributed to the Infant Jesus, particularly in the areas of healing, protection, and provision. The statue is often depicted dressed in royal robes, symbolizing the kingship of Christ even as a child. This devotion has spread worldwide, with many turning to the Infant Jesus of Prague for intercession in times of need. In our Cathedral, we honor this tradition with a Novena each fall, welcoming faithful from throughout the area to seek the blessings of the Infant King in their lives.
