Welcome to the Cathedral of St. Joseph’s Sacramental Preparation and Faith Formation program. Our Formation and Education program encourages participants on their journey of faith toward falling deeper in love with Jesus Christ. Our program is rooted in Sacred scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic church and buoyed up by the Sacred Tradition of the Catholic Church. We teach that full and active participation in the liturgical and sacramental life of the Church is the most intimate way we experience the tremendous love of Jesus Christ. Click on each of our Programs to learn more or to sign up!

Marriage

Marriage is the Sacrament that best reflects the permanent and lasting covenant of love Christ has established with his Church. We pride ourselves on the extensive marriage preparation program here at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. To learn more about weddings click on the WEDDING PACKET LINK or email Debbie Fahey at dfahey@dwc.org.  For more information and help preparing for marriage, please visit www.catholicmarriageprep.com.

Funerals

First Holy Communion

Classes begin September 16, 2018, and meet every Sunday at 9:15 AM in the Cathedral offices, until the second Sunday of Easter, and are open to any children who have reached the age of reason.

Baptism

The sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the second Sunday of each month during the 10:30am mass. Please contact the Parish Office to make arrangements. 304-233-4121,  dfahey@dwc.org

Confirmation

Classes are held every other year and are open to those young adults who have reached the age of discretion. Next Class begins Fall of 2018!
Through our Confirmation classes you will learn that loving Christ is a call to belief and action. You will learn what it means to be an active and involved member of your parish family and you will be offered opportunities to get involved in your Cathedral parish all while learning more about the Catholic faith you profess.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Our RCIA program offers formation to all adults who are seeking full initiation or full communion in the Catholic Church. Classes begin in September and conclude in the spring and meet every Sunday at 9:15 AM on the Rectory. Our RICA formation program is open to the whole parish and we encourage our parishioners to participate in the weekly classes so they might share their experiences of the Christian life. As part of the ongoing formation for newly initiated members we offer and encourage participation in the THIRST Adult Faith Formation program. From those seeking initiation to us Catholics needing a refresher in the foundations of the faith, all are invited to attend.
